This is no groundbreaking DIY project, us girls have been customizing our jeans for years, but the Maison Martin Margiela S/S 08 collection really brought distressed jeans to a whole new level. I’d been lusting after them for a while now when I realized they would make an incredibly easy DIY project!
Here’s a quick (and super easy) tutorial on how to make your very own Maison Martin Margiela-esque jeans without having to spend a dime.
What You’ll Need:
-a pair of jeans
1. Mark on your jeans where your knees are. You’ll work off of that spot.
2. Start cutting! You can cut as large or small of holes and go as high or low as you like. Don’t forget to cut up the back of the jeans as well! I did a much more toned down version of the original Margiela jeans, but feel free to go as crazy as you want.
3. Wash and dry your newly destroyed jeans. This will also help fray the cut edges a bit more.
4. Wear ‘em!
