Speaking of forever sweetheart, Edward Norton has to be at the top of my laminated list (any Friend’s fan here?). I was a little shocked to learn today that a girl in the office (college age) didn’t know who he is, so I thought I’d do a little background introduction for all the great films he starred in during the 90s.
1. Primal Fear is a suspense story of a lawyer who defended a criminal that he believed to be not guilty. The criminal was in fact, a killer and an excellent con-artist. Edward Norton played the sleaze and did an amazing job. That was one of his first films, and I knew then that he was going to become some famous Hollywood actor one day. .
2. Fight Club is probably his most well known movie to date. It’s a little hard to explain what the movie is about, I would compare it to American Beauty, where the drama happens in a person’s daily life, but also in his own head. Brad Pitt was the other leading man in the movie, and Eward Norton played the evil twin.
3. Keeping the Faith is one of my favorite romantic comedies to date. Edward Norton both directed and starred in the movie. Most people find it a little slow, as it’s mostly just witty conversation and light-hearted sarcasm toward Catholicism and Judaism. But if you pay attention, there are quite a few good one liner and some great romance and humor scenes in the movie.
I’ve been impressed by his acting and his talent as a director. Out of all the Hollywood celebrity male actors, he’s not the most striking nor attention grabbing. But every movie he starred in has always left a deep impression on me. So here is a tribute to Edward Norton, my forever sweetheart.
