I first want to thank you and Chictopia for offering us this amazing opportunity to participate in this event where fashion bloggers and branding companies can meet and share their voices. I think the power of the fashion blogger is undeniable, with a growing number of noticeable faces within our community landing in magazine spreads and even sitting front row next to the likes of Anna Wintour.
My story began less than a year ago, when I started my blog THE HAUTE PURSUIT with little idea of what a blog was and what it was going to mean in my life. Something that started off as a silly hobby turned into a conduit for creativity and a means to meet other like minded people. One of the first online fashion communities I joined was Chictopia. I was drawn to the novel idea of being able to stalk other stylish individuals that shared the same hair color or even the same size! I was blown away by the resourcefulness of my favorite chictopians who showed that style is not defined by your wallet, but rather your imagination and a little creativity! Bridging the geographical gap, Chictopia has effectively brought fashionable people of all ages from around the world to one singular, accessible location where they can connect and share their style stories.
I can only describe the chictopia community as being loving and so incredibly supportive! I always look forward to logging in and seeing what insightful comments people have left me! Winning a chance to participate in Chictopia10 in NYC with fellow chictopians and people that I now regard as friends will be nothing short of amazing and hopefully a great way to start off 2010!
