Right now, this dress is my baby. By which I mean I have to burp it and be extra-careful about spilling hot liquids on it. I’ve already ripped it once, and just got it back from my local tailor to have the hem taken up because I’d ripped it so badly.
Why, oh why, did my baby have to be a creamy white vintage dress? I can’t wear it to weddings. It’s silk chiffon, so if I so much as sneeze or step the wrong way, it’ll rip and maybe next time, I won’t be able to have it mended again. I can’t really eat in it unless I eat a salad (with no dressing, lest it drip!), and if I wear it to a party, well, I’m just asking for trouble, because people are bound to drip red wine on it, if that person is not me, which it probably will be…
But in the meantime, I’ll wear it with pride. Nosirree, nothing will stop me from braving the wilds of the world in my white dress.
WHY I LOVE CHICTOPIA: Lots of lovely ladies who know style like the backs of their clotheshorse hands! I get so much inspiration from everyone on Chictopia; in fact, I very rarely read fashion magazines anymore, because I love to know what’s out there in “real life” from the other members of this community. And people are so supportive, too; it’s a very rare thing we’ve got here, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
