Oh Chictopia… this seems like the right time to declare my love! x
I first discovered this community through a blog. I wish I could remember which one, as I have a lot to thank them for! I initially signed up just to browse for inspiration, but then something about the warmth and support of the people here made me feel brave enough to post an outfit, & I never looked back!
The response was, and has remained, so completely awesome. People here actually care; they get to know each other and remember you even when you disappear for a few months at a time. It isn’t like other fashion communities; people are genuinely supportive, and there’s a real range of styles, tastes and body shapes so that everyone & anyone can find inspiration.
Being a member of Chictopia has had a big impact on my confidence as well as my style. I take so much inspiration from the people and personalities here that my personal style is no longer a vulnerable spot for negative comments. They can say what they like; I’m part of a little army of fashionistas and we’re doing things differently :)
(PS About the outfit; I’m so happy about the underwear-as-outerwear trend. I can still remember standing in my first bra with a towel wrapped beneath it, thinking ‘this is a great look!’. Haha! )
