Happy new year!
I’m back from Spain, and decided to post some recaps of our trip, since I wrote a little journal while being there. There were no good internet connections to be found, and when I found one – they had trouble with the connection there too. Had a wonderful time, anyways.
We were walking along the beach this morning for an hour or so, just looking at the vulcanic landscape and enjoying the warm summer breezes. Saw a few boobs and that old mans private area. Ate lunch at a cozy, little tavern and admired the already drunk tourist in all of their glory. As dessert, I bought three pairs of beautiful earrings and an oversized ring.
“You look a bit lost, girls – do you need some help?”, said the British lady. Yes, we managed to get lost the very first day. Luckily all we had to do was go around the corner and take a taxi up to San Fernando, which we never would have found on our own. The taxi-drives are, of course, crazy. The bus drivers even more so. It’s always charming the learn this, as if it’s for the first time, when you arrive to any location. I find it quite humorous, and frightening.
My outfit was simple and quite boring. What pushed it from “boring” to “wearable-in-public” was the beautiful sequined vest I bought at Bellavista in San Fernando. Tried on a faux-fur vest too, but put it right back on the table where it looked wearable. Of course I was stupid enough to fall in love with some amazing shoes. Will return to purchase. Or not.
We are planning on taking one of the arranged trips which involves off-road driving and camel riding – I can’t believe I’ve never done that last one before. I went off-roading with a bus in Africa a couple of years ago, involuntary, that is. I would think this could be a much more positive experience.

awesome!
