I discovered Chictopia this past summer. I remember the first day I purged and stalked almost all the photos in the people, style, and inspiration galleries. I was amazed. Never before had I seen a social networking site so devoted to promoting style, creativity, and most evident of all, individuality. Sure, I’ve had my fair share of Facebook, but this was so much more satisfying. One thing I love the most about Chictopia, is that it really shows no boundaries; with the click of a mouse I can skip from a dainty Swedish Edie Sedgwick look-alike to a bold and dark stylish young man from Taiwan. If I had a dollar for every piece of inspiration I have stripped from this site, lets just say I wouldn’t be shopping at Goodwill four days out of the week. Above all things I have to thank Chictopia for, is courage. The courage to know your not the only one out there searching for that one obscure accessory that is going to make you stand out. The courage to know that it’s ok to mis-match, it’s ok to wear your hot pink tights with those striped socks, it’s ok to be yourself.
Thank you Chictopia, you are changing the world.
