after weeks of neglect, i have finally decided to start on this massive days-long project of doing my laundry. no joke. i have somehow amassed so many articles of clothing that my bedroom has been overtaken. i am afraid to look at the dry-cleaning bill.
but the fun part about laundry day is that you always end up wearing some silly mess of things that happened to be clean at the time. for me, this turned out to be a very fun endeavor because i got to dress like an eccentric old lady in this new faux fur stole and leather gloves i recently got.
and onto the subject of the contest:
oh dear me, i am so excited about the chictopia 10! i just had to take this opportunity to write about how much i absolutely love this site! and how perfectly fitting, since it is almost the one year anniversary since i started my chictopia account.
for me, chictopia is where it all began. last february, i started posting pictures of my outfits on chictopia as a way to keep a running document of the outfits i wore and to share and be inspired by the other members of the community. almost immediately, i found an incredibly positive and supportive group of online friends who were always there to offer positive comments and suggestions. after a few weeks, i was hooked. every morning, i would get dressed and beg my boyfriend to snap a few pictures of my outfits on my little back porch. it was so exciting to post my pictures and to pour through all of my favorite outfits in the style gallery to find new inspiration for the next day.
looking back on all of those pictures from when i first started, i can’t believe how much i’ve grown and changed. posting pictures here motivated me to cultivate my personal style, to take risks, to be a photographer, to be a journalist, and to eventually branch out and start my own style blog. i really truly and honestly believe that i couldn’t have done it all without the support that i have received in this awesome community.
aw, that is so sappy and sweet, but it’s all true! now wipe the tears away! hehe. ;)
