As 2009 draws to an end here in the Western Hemisphere, we’re taking a look back on all the exciting things that have happened at Chictopia.
We love our members and love it even more when they get recognition! The blogging phenom exploded in 2009, with tons of popular bloggers doing things like attending Fashion Week and working on clothing collaborations with huge retailers. Media took note and featured some of our very own Chictopians.
Forever 21 Magazine
Our love for the fast fashion giant is no secret and when they announced the debut of their magazine, we couldn’t be more excited to begin flipping through the pages. Even better was that on nearly every page was a familiar face from our community! Chictopians Karla Deras of Karla’s Closet, Liz of Late Afternoon and your’s truly were part of the magazine’s first issue. Needless to say, we can’t wait to see more! The New York Times
We nearly doubled over in excitement when The New York Times included our very own TeenUgly in their piece about young fashion bloggers. We were equally excited and multiple times more proud of Camille of Childhood Flames. The young fashion influencer got her just recognition, and by The New York Times no less. You go girl! Goodbyes are inevitable and this year we said a tearful farewell to former EIU editor, Connie Wang. But if you’ve been keeping up, as we surely have been, Connie is up to great things over at Refinery 29 as their Associate Editor. Lucky for us, we still get to run into her every now and then during Fashion Week!
With a year like this, we just can’t wait to see what’s in store for all of our members in 2010!
