Every Christmas night, December 25, I go out and spend time with my nearest and dearest friends since my family trades me for KARE KARE, a peanut based delicacy/ soul food back here which is a staple meal in most family get togethers…. In my case, it is a lethal dose of allergens since the mere scent of peanuts drives me into severe anaphylactic shock and only epinephrine (adrenaline) can save me during such cases. So, since the kare kare is my grandmother’s specialty dish, I stay away and allot the free time with friends who, like me, have no family gatherings/ celebrations for dinner on Christmas day.
I went to High Street which in my opinion is the new GREENHILLS due to the hoards of people who flocked there on Christmas day. Proceeded to SUITE, which is the new old Cuisine for some clean fun and celebration with my nearest and dearest. This routine has been my annual Christmas tradition…I do miss spending time with my relatives and wish I could’ve been there to celebrate Christmas with them but that happening is impossible especially with my allergies. I also don’t want to impose on them since I want them to eat as much as they can since this is a once a year thing.
I am still very addicted to the Grecian silhouette (if you noticed, this is the 2nd day straight I wore draped Grecian inspired garb). What can I say… the romantic drapery and flow just feels so ethereal and surreal. It always rocks to feel like your own personal goddess on Christmas day after all. Finished off with a studded belt to glam it up and my new favorite shoes from Online.
The holidays are now officially over and I can sense the itch for everyone to hit the gym and cardio galore. As for me, I’ve been very strict with what I’ve eaten this season, my mom kids me that I am prolly the only one who lost weight despite the parties, smorgasbord of creamy food and never ending drinking. I tell her that it is quite impossible for me to gain especially since I cannot eat the 5 essentials in holiday food: butter, cream, chocolate, nuts and cholesterol. I guess it pays to have allergies after all. I am forced to a yearlong starvation from these yummy treats.
Hope everyone ate up chocolates for me this holiday season! I envy you guys! I haven’t tasted chocolate since forever! xx
