I see a lot of discussion in our forum about the topic of geek glasses. To be fair, my glasses are actually my real eyeglasses. I took the sunglasses lense out of my Wayfarers and just put in prescription ones. Works pretty well.
In case you wanted to try this at home, glasses are relatively easy to incorporate into your wardrobe. Here’s a few simple tips to get you started:
1. What are geek glasses? – There’s a difference between “geek” versus just rectangular black rimmed glasses. For this look to be successful, the bigger the better! Or until it eats your face. That’s not chic.
2. Light on top – Lipstick, glasses, and a white or light colored top is a fun way to bring attention to your upper body. And you can even mix softer, girlier tops like gobaby’s and Rissa’s for an extra eye-catching effect.
3. Girl-y works too – Don’t be afraid to mix geek glasses with more feminine florals, like dresses. A pretty vintage dress and glasses is a great go-to look – as seen so fetchingly on Snowshoe .
4. Yes, this was intentional – Finally, be comfortable in this very obviously trendy item. My favorite is to just put them on in front of people, ask “Hey, do you like my glasses?”, and wait for their reaction.
