I knew that I needed a little more military inspired pieces in my wardrobe. And because of my dear love of the late Michael Jackson and his glamorous and unique take on the military style, it just makes sense for me to have some. There’s no way I can get my hands on the beautiful Balmain creations, but this jacket from Forever 21 will do just fine. It’s a nice little diversion from my frequent blazer rotations. I can wear it with many of my dresses and all my jeans. I am sure that I can make this jacket go a long distance creatively. For example, my rugged boyfriend shorts bring this trendy jacket back down to earth.
I watched the 1959 movie Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon this weekend. If you haven’t seen it yet . . . go see it! It’s hilarious. I’m so used to Marilyn in her iconic photographs that I almost forgot how lovely she is on screen. Her face is just gorgeous. The beauty and sensuality she embodies is timeless. It’s no wonder she’s so iconic.
