This is an old Anna Sui dress of mine that I haven’t worn in quite awhile. It has an all over graphic apple print and is open in the back. I’m wearing it with a glut of thrifted/yard sale necklaces, a woven black belt from Anthropologie, a quilted, green leather bag also from Anthropologie (it’s my fav-fav-favorite!), and black flats from UO. They are super cheapo; I just got them one day because I was in heels and my feet hurt, but I ended up wearing them all the time.
So. I just ate what might have been the best meal of my life. It was at a place called Avenue Sea and it’s in Apalachicola, Florida. The chef worked at the French Laundry in Napa Valley and his wife is the pastry chef. She is the kung fu master of pastry chefs. Seriously, her peach funnel cake thing (it had a fancier name), molten chocolate bomb, and warm melty chocolate cake thing (also had a fancier name) blew my socks off. And I am not a dessert person. Give me cheese any day. And she did. She brought out a bitchin cheese plate of local Camembert style cheese, some spanish hard cheese that I forgot the name of (not Manchego, but one that starts with an “I”), Shropshire blue, an ash goat’s milk cheese, and a musty English cheddar. And this was all after a six course meal. Six mini courses. This wasn’t a stuff yourself silly meal. I don’t find those enjoyable. It was six wonderful mini meals (each paired with wine!). Poached local oysters… clams.. a caprese style salad…risi e bisi (my Italian is bad..). And yes, I ate the seafood. I’m not a strict vegetarian, and I will totally eat seafood in the right circumstance. But no land critters. For frankly very arbitrary reasons. Bah.. sorry to talk about food so much.. but this was something to write home about!
