The day I wore this was the day I had the most tweets and facebook status messages saying:
GOING GAGA for LADY GAGA
It was crazy and hella redundant…like that Black Eyed Peas song involving feelings and good night. But I didn’t mind in the case of Lady Gaga who visited Manila in less than 24 hours as a part of her world tour!
I told myself that I will watch certain performers no matter how much I spend on tickets…In the list along with Madonna, Coldplay and U2 was Lady Gaga which is why I jumped on the first chance I got to get tickets to see her live! I super got hyped up and with my business partner and soul sistaaa Nina, we were set to go all out Cherry cherry boom boom!
I look up to movers and shakers of fashion and I’d have to say one of the primary examples of such would be Lady Gaga especially for the year where her outrageous Haus of Gaga costumes have influenced designs of renowned fashion houses such as Givenchy, Chanel, Gaultier, Christian Lacroix and Balmain. Which is why her many outfits for her performance were out of this world amazing and one of a kind!
In homage to her record breaking sense of style, I decided to dress up Gaga-esque for her concert and while I will not wear a french cut bottom…ever… I was willing to go boudoir chic and wore a corset bustier which is actually the real deal as my top with pants in true Haus of Gaga style. Complete with my own blinged scepter!
The concert was amazing and explosive and I was surprised to discover Lady Gaga was actually feeling sick then and that it was her first arena solo headline act…ever. It totally didn’t show and while Nina and I did struggle to balance our 5 inch heels in the foldable chairs we stood in to see her on stage, it was quite the experience given that we risked breaking our bones for that. I still wanted MORE. I screamed my lungs out which resulted to losing my voice the next day…
While some people did not go all out effort as we did, it was fun to see the ones who did….fans dressed like her in liquid leggings, hoodies, jumpsuits and blinged up disco ball fashion. Definitely one of the concerts I saw people dress up for. It was totally worth it.
I was originally supposed to wear a jumpsuit but changed my mind last minute. I decided to mix and match! I wore my inner wear inside out and it worked! This is actually a low cut corset layered over a lace bustier to cinch everything up and reduce oxygen flow to my body by 50%. The things I sacrifice for style are intense. I loved the fit and how it boosted up things I know I am very lacking of. Since it was quite provocative already in the upper half, I balanced things out by wearing loose harem pants we designed and will be releasing soon- it was ultra comfy and with pants like these, who needs skirts. That coming from me, the ultimate skirt girl means these pants rocked! It’s like leggings with a twist and it totally made me look tall. Paired it with studded fingerless gloves and a belt also from Glitterati.
I am still experiencing Lady Gaga syndrome! I love it! xx
