I found this t-shirt in H&M for a bargain £10 when I was supposed to be looking for clothes for my new job – I actually ended up wearing it with the peg leg trousers, also from H&M, that were £5 in the sale. The shoes are actually wonderful cuff shoes, but sadly spent the day covered by the bottom of the trousers, boo. I needed some more formal trousers, since I have none, but absolutely didn’t want to be stuck in boring-black-bootcut – I had never thought peg leg was something I could pull off. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried them on and didn’t look like a total tool. In the end I got a cropped beige pair, a full length beige pair which can be rolled up or worn long (I love a bit of versatility) and the black ones pictured here.
I wasn’t sure if it was a little “out there”, with the cut of the trousers and the blue socks, but the manager assured me that Paul Smith like to encourage individuality, and that I should absolutely go for it if I want to dress creatively. Hurrah!
