I would never buy a body chain, but a good DIY project sounds like fun... Maybe I'll have to go shopping for supplies!

this is really hot. do you think we could get some pictures of what it looks like from the back?
EverybodyIsUgly
EverybodyIsUgly on August 05
The back is actually just the straps from the two sides so kind of like suspendors from the back? I imagine you can do the same thing backwards to get the design on the back if you want instead.

Thanks for the tutorial. This doesn't sound too difficult—I might actually try this! And if you don't mind me asking, where did you score a pair of Seychelles for only 20 bucks?

DIY: How to make your own bodychain   Add as Favorite Photo

Contemporary Style, best suited for a Everyday
Aug 04, 2008

I wrote this over again so BritUgly could understand. I consider her the benchmark since she IS the authority on DIY acid wash (go ahead, Google search “DIY acid wash” and see who you find).

I made this tutorial pre-bodychain-gate (see: here ). Not that it matters. I have no opinion. I just make stuff because I can’t afford either version.

Cheers!

You’ll need:

9 feet silver chain – available at any of your local big hardware stores

2 closures – circular connectors available at any craft store

1 clasp – available at any craft store

The steps:

1. Attach closure + clasp to one end of the chain, connect to other end of the chain, throw around your neck to get a feel for placement.

2. With the chain around your neck and the clasp hanging to the mid right of you, find the other mid left point, and fasten a second closure.

3. Connect various parts of the chain to the second closure forming 3 distinct loops, like “cat’s cradle” but with an extra loop that goes around your neck.

4. Put both arms through the two loops on the side and voila! Instand bodychains… that don’t step on any copyright infringement :X
