AWW SH*T! You slept through your alarm clock and you have exactly 5 minutes to get ready. No need to panic, all you need are a few go to items and you’ll be set. I know this might make me sound like a terrible student, but I would honestly rather be late to class than step out in a college sweatshirt and pajama bottoms. So, all I’ve done and what you guys can do is update your lazy day outfit so that it doesn’t look so… well… LAZY. I am most definitely not a morning person so I thought I’d walk you guys through my 5 minute morning routine.
Usually I wake up, curse a few times, stumble into the bathroom, and wash my face. Contacts go in and I start pulling out articles of clothing for my outfit while I’m brushing my teeth. Important note Do not get toothpaste on the clothes you just pulled out, PJ’s are okay though. Next I spray a little dry shampoo on my bangs because they tend to be a little bit greasier than the rest of my hair. I like Ojon’s travel bottle which I get at Sephora for 10 bucks even though I should probably just by the standard size.
Next I put on some makeup. Now when I’m in a real REAL rush I’ll just put on some concealer under my eyes and jet; but for the most part I have enough time for at least concealer, eyeliner, and some blush. I absolutely need concealer because I have the scariest dark circles you have ever seen. Ask any of my friends, it’s no joke. Eyeliner helps to make me look more awake, and I use blush so that I don’t look dead. Being pale can do that to you sometimes. :)
Now for the outfit. I probably wear a variation of my lazy day outfit at least 3-4 times a week. Since it’s summer it’s usually a loose tank/shirt tucked into a pair of shorts/skirt with knee highs and a cardigan. No it isn’t the most original outfit in the world but I only had 5 minutes! I like knee highs because they pull an outfit together and take half the time to put on as tights do.
That’s it! I grab an apple and put on my trusty oxfords. Oxfords are to me what ballet flats, sandals, booties, converse might be to you. I alternate between my black and brown ones depending on my mood and I’m off! I can honestly say that this entire process takes me about 5 minutes because I’ve got it down pat. It’s ok, all you have to do to practice is wake up late a few times and voila! You’ll be a professional speed dresser in no time.
