I’ve been scrubbin’ it all this week (and not nearly as well as Anne-Catherine Lacroix in this 2002 editorial from i-D) because I’ve been a counselor at a theater camp for middle schoolers. We are workin’ them to the bone in preparation for tomorrow’s grand finale.
Kids interested in performing monologues or solos auditioned earlier this week (there’s everything from Taylor Swift’s “Picture to Burn” to “Nothing” from A Chorus Line to “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid). A handful of kids were selected to perform their solos, and then there is a musical medley in which the kids have learned choreography to songs from Wicked, Legally Blonde, Grease, Mamma Mia!, and The Lion King. Our final number is a tribute to MJ… we taught the kids THRILLER!
I was so excited to learn the dance right alongside them. I’ma have my mom tape it for us to put it on youtube. I’m so impressed with all the kids have prepared for tomorrow. Wish us broken legs :)

killer shoes!
