Everything in the 80s is big, bold, and well….. kinda tacky. Padded shoulder, puffy hair, neon colors, those lycra exercise suits. Please tell me they are not making a comeback :o!From all 20th century’s fashion decades, 80s is the one I hesitate in trying. So, why would I enter the competition anyway? Because it’s a challenge to incorporate those 80s statement into my everyday outfit.
This outfit is inspired by the 80s, but somehow still features the essence of my true nature.
What was 80s with this outfit: Oversized blazer and jelly shoes.
Instead wearing a masculine, power blazer, I chose a more flamboyant take on the oversized blazer trend of the 80s. I have another story here for this floral blazer, if you want to check it out.
The jelly shoes, well, they have been filling up the stores for months now, later than sooner, I got my self a pair. I never knew until recently that the trend was from the 80s?! Maybe that decade of fashion wasn’t so bad after all.
The color scheme of my outfit may not be that of the 80s. Unlike bold colors that signify the 80s, my outfit carries more the bohemian spirit of the 60s or 70s….which is what my personal style is.
So, was I successful in doing the 80s style? Any hoo, I do this only because it is an opportunity for me to show you my lovely floral blazer I thrifted for almost nothing hahaha…..
Oh and, don’t you know blazer and shorts are on every runway?
