Wore this for a day of graduation parties. I was looking for something simple and unique and, after tearing my dresser and closet apart, I found this dress in a bag near my sewing machine. Last summer, I took a manual patternmaking class at FIT and this dress was actually my final project for the class: I designed it, made the pattern for it, and started sewing it, but became so frustrated with having to hand-sew the SIXTEEN buttonholes and buttons that after completing five buttonholes I put it in a drawer and promptly forgot about it…. until now!!! I cheated and stitch-tacked the part that’s still button-less in the 20 minutes I had before I left the house, also, it’s too big for me and it’s a little sheer since I used a vintage sheet, but overall I’m pretty happy about it!
Looking back, it probably would’ve looked better with heels, but I figured flat sandals would be better (read: I’m bad at wearing heels) for a day full of walking, driving, and mingling :)
Sorry about the second picture- that’s the best one I had that showed the carvings on my earrings, but it’s a little blurry.
