I had the best meal of my life last night. Literally. We went out to celebrate our good marks! We both ordered exactly the same thing (because we have similar tastes and the ward off food envy, a malady I often suffer.) We had crumbed scallops, followed by John Dory on top of bok choy and a stack of kipfler potatoes, followed by a chocolate fondant with ice-cream and espresso sauce. Oh man, I’ve been craving one of those since I saw some guy make it on British Masterchef. It was genius! If you live in Melbourne or London, go to Match bar. The head bartender invented the Cosmopolitan (amazing, right?), the food is the best ever and the atmosphere is super cool.
Anyway, this is my new blouse from Alannah Hill. I really should’ve gotten a picture of the back, because it’s beautiful see-through lace, so that it looks almost backless. Alannah is an Australian designer and is into full-on girly glamour (I saw an interview once where she claimed she never “wears a jean.”) The detail on this shirt is incredible. It has beads around the collar, the little beige bow tie is also beaded, and I love the sheer panels on the collarbone/shoulder. The lace is super delicate.
I felt like this had a goth meets Colonel Sanders feeling to it!
