I made this jacket in senior year of high school and totally forgot about it until I looked through the foyer closest the other day. I think I may have only worn it once or twice and decided that I made it at an awkward length for my height and didn’t quite like the sleeves. Still, I would only wear this jacket over a mid length skirt.
Speaking of skirts, in high school fashion class (yes I took fashion in junior and senior year much to my science loving nerdiness) we discussed the cycle of fashion trends. Apparently long skirts are a sign of recession and short skirts come out during ‘boom time.’ It may be just the coincidence of the fashion cycle and economic cycle. But I think there may be some kind of positive correlation between the feeling of economic security and the urge to dress racy. So girls, pull out the mini skirts and start spending, cause baby needs a job.
If you were wondering about how my job interview went two weeks ago, they told me that I’m hired but would have to wait til this week for a phone call since some members of management were on vacation. Now nearing the end of the week and still no phone call. I guess I’ll be spending the rest of summer at home.
This reminds me, I need to finish making another of that yellow scarf for Im_wired because of a two year old promise. And, tights or no tights?
