When I told people I’d finally decided to have a go at the harem pants thing, three, yes three people made the same joke. “Hammer time” guffaw guffaw.

Humph.

Personally, I quite like them. They were cool on a warm day, light and comfortable. A comfortable high fashion item – that’s nothing short of a miracle, surely?
