If you’ve ever looked at my chic blog, you would be able to tell that I’m really into shoes… as in, I drop more money on a pair of them than I would ever consider spending on a dress or a bag. Shoes are so crucial to an outfit! The right pair can make a grungy outfit look classy and the wrong pair (coughCrocscough) can make you look awful no matter what else you’re wearing. Lucky for me (and you), great shoes don’t have to come at a great cost with H&M’s upcoming designer collaboration with award-winning shoe and accessories brand Jimmy Choo.
The collaboration will naturally be centered around the accessories, which will include shoes and bags, but there will also be an accompanying clothing line, which will serve to complement the accessories. There will also be a men’s line of shoes and bags, so possession of a Y-chromosome won’t exclude you from the excitement.
However, the idea of a clothing line designed around accessories (rather than vice versa) makes me a bit apprehensive, especially since Jimmy Choo has never (to my knowledge) designed clothing. My guess is that shoppers will mainly be there for the shoes anyways, since shoes are what Jimmy Choo is known for, so if you’ve got your eye on a particular pair, you’ll probably need to brave the long lines. Personally, I am picturing those black cage-like cutout heels on my feet… (Nobody buy those in a size 7, kay? Okay.)
Unfortunately, the press release hasn’t offered clues on the price point of this collection , but I’m sure that everything will be a lot less than the $500+ price tags Jimmy Choo shoes usually sport. Besides, the collection is set to hit shelves on November 14, giving you enough time to save up your pennies to splurge on some goodies! Sorry to those of you who will be in school, but since the 14th is a Saturday, this is no excuse for skipping class.
So what do you all think? Will you be standing in line at the crack of dawn to get at the shoes/clothes, or will you wait for the (inevitable) next collab?
