I was at a house-warming party the other day when I was reminded that for as much as all the Uglies are obsessed with clothing – we don’t talk about makeup that much (Hi J!). But makeup is something that we can all relate to.
So I decided to put together a list of my personal cosmetic go-to’s. Keep in mind, I’m Asian, so my face practically eats eyeliner. If you’re not Asian, I recommend playing around with the intensity because quite frankly, I wouldn’t want you to look like a hooker.
Mac Lustre lipstick in Lustering
The picture is not the color of Lustering. Lustering is a hot pink shade that looks good whether applied lightly (for a subtle pink shade) or heavy (for an intense pop of color). The Lustre line is my favorite because it has a glossy finish. You have to re-apply this about three times a day but if the color starts to fade, it doesn’t leave those weird outlines around your lips that looks like your lipstick is fading.
Mac Fluidline eyeliner in Blacktrack
Best. eyeliner. ever. EVER. I’ve kind of moved on from pencil and liquid eyeliner. I’ve now completely switched over to the world of gel eyeliner (using an eyeliner brush). This stuff doesn’t move and it gives the same dark color like a liquid but without having to wait around as long for your eyeliner to dry. I hate that. I also recommend the accompanying brush Mac sells, but I forgot what it’s called.
Bare Escentuals powder & Mineral Veil
Who doesn’t use this, seriously? It’s incredibly light and feels like you’re not wearing powder at all. I used to use Shiseido powder which can be just as light, but the Mineral Veil does a better job at blending the powder to my skin tone. And they have more shades to choose from as well.
Nars blush in Amour
I prefer blush to actually be a little visible. Kind of a like a doll or something. I’ve tried Nar’s Orgasm which everyone seems to rave about, but seriously, I can’t see anything on my face. I like Amour because it’s pink. I like pink. It’s really that simple.
Hope you found this helpful.
