I’ve made up a new game for whenever I’m feeling uninspired or don’t know what to wear. I go to Wikipedia and press “random article” until I find a topic that I can use as the starting point for an outfit. Last night I went through a bunch of random entries (Scandinavian athletes, phylogenetics, 18th-century writers and tiny towns in Iowa, to name a few) until I came across the article on mountain ranges. I didn’t actually read it, but the idea of crinkled folds and shapes immediately made me think of this wrap dress (aka blanket).
Then I started thinking of mountain ranges on other planets, alien landscapes, some sort of crazy futuristic alien explorer/warrior princess…and here I am, decked out in a blanket and my favorite crazyboots. If I had more time I would have used my shiny silver scarf, insane headpiece and/or space cadet sunglasses. But this dress is another one of those weird pieces that I never know what to wear it with besides the usual.
Actually, now that I think of it, there’s been a lot of sci-fi going on today. My dad brought home a copy of Fantastic Voyage from the library – for those not in the know (including myself), it’s a movie made in 1966 about a science experiment to shrink people and put them inside the human body on a very important mission. Sounds intruiging…and probably has cool costumes and laughably bad special effects to boot.
oh and! I was wearing white tights under my gray tights and when I got home I took off the grey ones because they had a hole, and ended up liking how the white tights looked. I feel sort of like a ballerina when I wear them.
ps. I have 666 friends on chictopia, eek!

woow !
