Finally a day that was semi-warm enough to wear a dress sans tights.
For our 20-month anniversary, my boyfriend and I ventured out to North Berkeley to get cupcakes. Sadly, we went a bit too late, and found it closed… but we got Pizza from Cheeseboard instead, so it wasn’t a total loss.
Cheeseboard always has the most interesting and tasty pizza. I didn’t look at the ingredients that day (since it’s amazing regardless) but it did have corn (!!) and some other vegetables on it, along with their amazing cheese, and a chunk of lime for squeezing onto it. Delicious!
Anyhow, the hat is one of my recent acquisitions and is my favorite primarily because of the shape, which fits my head perfectly, and the pink ribbon (I’m a bit more than a little obsessed with pink these days, strangely).
I love the tiny floral print of the dress and the corset-y detailing and buttons at the top. If only it weren’t a size or two too big… it would be the perfect little Dust Bowl-ish dress. It’s surprisingly not vintage for once!
The bag is vintage though, and one of my most prized possessions. It has the tiniest embroidery and beading ever and is probably from the 30s or 40s, making it one of my oldest vintage pieces. I actually keep it in a little bag in a drawer for safety and only bring it out for special occasions. I felt that this day definitely qualified.
And yes, I might have dressed in order to match my nail polish…
