cocoandvera 's Thoughts:

Pink, it will surprise none of you to hear, is not a colour I naturally gravitate towards. I went through a serious pink phase in my teens, when everything I owned, from lipglosses to handbags to sweaters to the new carpet in my bedroom (which my parents still have to live with years later), had to be a shade of blush. (And, unbelievably, it all started at my fourteenth birthday, when my best friend told the rest of our friends that pink was my favourite colour, so they all bought me pink gifts. My initial reaction was confusion, because my favourite colour was most definitely not pink, and I felt guilty for not being more gracious, so I way overcompensated by pretending I loved the gifts, and everything pink, for years afterwards.) But when I finally snapped out of it, I went straight from needing to own all things pink to not wanting to go anywhere near the colour. To this day, pink is not a colour I would ever choose to wear, except on my lips - my closet is utterly devoid of blush shades despite their popularity, and even my nude heels are mostly neglected in favour of black ones and, well, more black ones. But I have well-documented soft spot for cakes and flowers of all colours, so when the plan for this gorgeous shoot - which you can see more of on LENZO - came together, I couldn't resist the idea of it. I mean, fresh flowers, delicate meringues, French macarons and champagne - even for a reformed pink lover like me, the concept was pretty irresistible. That's not to say that I'm about to start wearing a lot of pink dresses, because if I'm honest, I felt like I was playing dress-up the whole afternoon of this photoshoot and I was glad to slip back into my beloved black jeans and sweater before I went home. But when we got the photos back, I had to admit that there's really nothing wrong with playing dress up occasionally - the results can be pretty spectacular.
