Being back in Riverside is awesome if only for the discovery of a nearby cornucopia of antique malls and thrift shops… all in a 1 block radius. I think there are 3 thrift shops, 2 antique malls, 1 antique store, and one combination antique store/thrift shop there… pretty amazing. So you can guess how I spent my yesterday.
I found a bunch of wonderful 50s and 60s dresses that will be going into the shop I’m opening soon. I’m super tempted to keep them, but I already own so many dresses… Besides, I’m so excited by the prospect of a shop, and I want to make sure the things I sell are genuinely covetable… It’ll be great!
The belt I’m wearing in the picture is from one of the thrift shops. It’s basically one of the most kitschy things I have ever seen, with fake coins and chains with weird tribal-looking charms dangling from them. Still, I love it! For some reason, it makes me think of Vena Cava just a bit, which is always a good thing.
Those shoes are the 60s platforms I posted a while back. They finally arrived! They are as lovely in real life and they fit, but boy do they have no padding… I really need to get squishy insoles for them soon, as I really can’t even stand in them for too long… ouch.
