tailored and true

Tailored denim might be one of my favorite trends, and for more reasons than just the fact that I’ve always been drawn to ’70s style. For starters, it’s just more flattering. I mean, we’ve all had it drilled into our brains by every fashion magazine ever that vertical lines lengthen and slim one’s figure, but they also seem to fit better, too. The pair I’m wearing above cinches my midsection in like a corset. Then there’s the dressy element – tailored jeans just look a little bit fancier, making them even easier to dress up or down than your average pair of denim. I seem to have done both with this outfit, by adding gold stiletto boots on bottom and casual anorak on top. Mission accomplished.
