You finally got the perfect flat-lay photo of your perfectly arranged suitcase contents and you’re finally ready to head out to the airport. Before you hop on that plane and jet your way across the Pacific, make sure to do a double check to see if you have everything, including these three phone apps that’ll save you from any travel faux-pas you may run into.
1. AdventureAlly Travel Companion App
AdventureAlly is easily one of the most useful apps we’ve used when traveling abroad. It offers features such as a currency converter, tipping guides, and emergency phone numbers for different countries. This app gets bonus points from us because most of its features are available offline. This means no looking for wi-fi to figure out how much to tip for your meal.
2. Jet Lag Rooster
Dorothy Wang of #RKOBH once said “Jet lag is tacky”. While not every one of us have the luxury of traveling in private jets with customized sleeping pods like Miss Wang, losing a day or two of vacation time due to jet lag still sucks. That’s where the Jet Lag Rooster app steps in. This app creates a personalized jet lag plan for you by taking into account the different timezones and your own sleeping habits. The plan gives you a schedule on when you should avoid and seek light, and you can start the schedule as soon as you hop on the plane.
3. Google Translate
Don’t know what to order for lunch because you can barely understand anything on the menu? We’ve all been there. Now you can avoid this whole situation because Google Translate does all the work for you. This phone app translates day-to-day words can even recognize text on images. You can simply hold up your phone to a menu or a sign, and the app instantly translates it for you. This app is an essential for anyone traveling to a non English-speaking country.
