I got a request from agooddictator for suggestions on shoes for running around campus other than your usual ballet flats.
I for one love to wear heels and wish I could wear them all the time but a college campus is one place where it just ain’t happenin’. Walking from class to class across what seems like miles of stairs, hallways, and hills is brutal on your feet, so comfort is key! However, that doesn’t mean you have to succumb to the typical choice of footwear by college kids across the nation of Uggs and Rainbow brand sandals. GROSS. I remember one very hot day on campus there was literally a parade of students in their Rainbow flip flops making that noise that flips flops make. Ya know, that fwap fwap sound. I call ‘em The Fwappers.
I can still hear it now…
Anyway, after some browsing about the Chictopia Style Gallery and online stores I found some shoes that won’t sacrifice style for comfort.
Minnetonka boots these are a great alternative to Uggs. The fringe is awesome and they can be paired with so many different outfits. I love especially how Lulu wears hers.
Small wedge sandals Now if you really wanna wear heels which agooddictator emphasized in her request on campus friendly footwear, I suggest something with a stable heel such as these sandals from Asos. They’re not very high but still give you a little height boost and they’re super comfy for running around campus. Save your stilettos and platforms for after class ;)
Cutout sandals These are great since they’re super comfortable and look so cool! Annabel has a sweet pair that she wears often for running around town. I really like these black ones from Urban Outfitters. They can really add an interesting touch to a simple ensemble of jeans and a tee.
I also included some pictures from users in great shoes AND great outfits for campus.
Love how Camille wore her Docs with tights+socks and that white blazer. I totally see her stomping around campus in those.
Also love the way Zoe paired those bright red patent flats with dusty blues and green. SO GOOD.
So the moral of this post is DON”T BECOME A FWAPPER!
xoxo,
Linda
