I was told by my bestest friend that this photo looked very “French.” I think it’s just the beret that does it.

This high-waisted gingham skirt is a vintage piece from my shop. I recently picked up the newest Elle and there was a feature on picnic-inspired gingham. I’ve always loved gingham, but the idea of matching it with ants and wicker and other picnic staples just captured me. I did my best with the trend by mixing the skirt with a little floral tank. And as it’s chilly here at the moment, a blackberry winter as my friends back in Rome would say, I covered up with a beret, scarf, and cardigan. Voilà tout!
