On our first night in Barbados, after enjoying some sun and drinking some rum punch we retired to our room and turned on the TV. I was just in time to catch Dirty Dancing half way through when they start learning the choregraphy because of Penny’s uhhh situation. Now, I haven’t watched it in a very long time, but i’m glad I did because the outfits everyone is wearing is just too darn cute!
There’s cute mexican embroidered tops, high waisted short shorts, bustiers, skinny cigarette pants, full skirts..etc the list goes on and on. I’ve decided that I need to own that movie just for the inspiration alone..never mind that its a classic.
So here’s my version, I bought these jeans because they were on sale and thought that this was the summer i’d start to wear white.(eeekk).What better place to test them out but in the caribbean! I got this shirt in Barbados to hide my sunburnt shoulders and chest. Paired it with some cork wedge sandals and a straw clutch. I must say, pretty proud of this look with only a few items to choose from in my suitcase.
