This is actually a shift dress (as seen here), but on little 5'2" me, it was down to my knees and entirely overwhelmed my petite frame. This happens to me quite a bit (#shortgirlproblems), and when I haven't had a chance to get alterations done, I employ the "hide-the-belt" trick. It's really simple: wear a thin belt around your waist, and then pull the dress up a few inches so that the extra fabric can fall and drape over the belt, hiding it from view. With this method, you can quickly adjust the length of practically any dress to your liking! It also makes the dress look like a two-piece top/skirt set.
