I have two particular things in mind when I am updating my wardrobe.
I am searching for two very different types of clothes.
I see the first ones as powerful. I’m thinking about leather, laces, straps, fringes, embroidery, metallics, prints and so on. You get the point.
The second type are the clean, simple ones. They are all white or gray or pastels with easy, smooth cuts.
You can make a very good outfit using only powerful elements or only clean elements. That is a matter of choice, of the messages you want to express.
The option I use most often is taking a powerful one and taming it down with clean items. The clean ones at the same time tame the message and also point out the element you are focusing on.
In the outfit above, the leather jacket (which is my favourite in the whole wide world, I absolutely ADORE IT!) is, obviously, the power. The ombré makes it even stronger. This jacket will be the main “tourist attraction”, no matter what outfit I add it to.
Now maybe the rest of the elements are not the usual “simple”. That’s because I like them simple, but not boring. So even the clean cuts must have some catchy details to make a good outfit.
Fashion is a lot of fun. Try it!
