I haven't had the time to properly miss Paris, since we've been home. There has been too much jetlag, too much life to catch up on and, of course, the beautiful after glow of nine days spent exactly as we pleased. The heart ache came over me suddenly, as I was sorting through the photos from this magical early morning shoot with one of my favourite Parisian brands, Comtesse Sofia. I met with the Comtesse Sofia team bright and early Tuesday morning on Ile Saint-Louis. I walked there alone, through the quiet city streets, passing very few people as I gazed up at the buildings and stopped to ponder the menus in small cafes. It was like having the capital to myself, just for a few minutes, and it was perfect. And those moments of utter bliss were followed by two of my favourite things, a quick up of tea at the bar in Le Lutetia and then playing dress-up in stunning Russian scarves from the Comtesse Sofia collection - the Shortcut to Carmine Street, my favourite, which you see in this post, and the Montmartre Blues, which I wore here. I know in my heart that I can never recreate that morning - but that doesn't stop me from wanting to go back to Paris so that I can try to.
