Photographia Nervosa is an affliction that starts young. We learn as children to feel like, well to use a scientific term, to feel like a dickhead when someone is taking a photograph of us in public. Thanks, dad. Some of us will struggle with these self conscious feelings for the rest of our lives.
While scouting locations a middle aged woman rolled by in an SUV. In slow motion she shook her head disapprovingly at me and Moustache Man (my faithful but hapless photographer). With the two of us skulking around alleyways I assume she thought we were planning some sort of sex adventure. If only she knew we were trying to take photographs for chictopia! Then she really would have been ashamed for us!
As for my condition, well I think I’m kind of coasting here so far as ‘fighting the good fight’ goes, seeing as I’m down a disused alleyway. Does that really count as confronting my disease?
