I debated a long time before buying these shoes because at about $139, they were the most expensive "apparel" item I had ever bought. I got them in brown, and when I put them on my mind was basically blown by how awesome they looked, but I could tell right away that they were not made out of the sturdiest leather. They stay up when I'm wearing them but the leather is really pretty floppy so as soon as you take them off the shafts flop over (ha, ha) and they can end up bent and crumpled, leading to surface wrinkles in the leather. The conscientious thing to do would be to stuff them with paper or a cardboard tube every time you take them off to prevent them from getting wrinkled. I don't know how long they'll last, but I've had them for about 2 or 3 months and probably wear them 2-3 days every week, and other than the aforementioned wrinkles, they seem fine. And I still can't stop being dazzled by their beauty, and I get compliments on them all the time!
