I wore this out on St. Patrick’s day yesterday, and I got mixed reviews for the socks. Random people approached me to compliment my socks, and other people talked behind my back about how weird my outfit was, particularly the socks with the skirt. You’re always going to have haters, but I think personal style is about owning what you wear and being confident in your choices, and I am confident.

So I’ve been trying to take my own pictures, and I find that my face looks stupid whenever I try to be all “model-y” but then I feel that I don’t look “fashion-y” when I smile. What a dilemma! Plus it’s awkward taking tripod self-timer shots, and I took this picture in front of where I live, so a lot of people saw what I was doing and some asked if I needed help. At least I have a D-SLR now, so it looks like I’m doing something legitimate… I always felt weird (read: myspace) having someone take my blog photos with a point and shoot. I think the girls on America’s Next Top Model have a way harder job than I imagined. I respect them more now…maybe I should practice my posing.
POLL: Is smiling good for fashionable photos?

Unlike many people, I love work clothes. I relish in professional gear because it displays respect for yourself and what you do. Anyway, here’s another interview look for the non-fashion career. At first I wasn’t sure if wearing a strapless dress would be a good idea, but really, as long as it’s got a modest cut and you always keep your shoulders covered, you can wear a dress to work or an interview.

I am in love with this vintage football poster print. I wish people still dressed like the woman in the photo. So classy!

The dress is from Forever 21’s Twelve by Twelve collection.
Now…onto my entry.
My sweetheart’s name is not actually Stephen, hence the quotation marks. Rather, the name represents how I feel about this person based on Taylor Swift’s song, “Hey Stephen.” While I’m fairly certain he knows how I feel, a lady should always be coy about her romantic interest. I am certainly not sure whether he could be my “forever sweetheart,” but I do feel pretty lucky to have met such a remarkable person.
Also, I felt that this dress was really hard to style. It’s so…complicated on its own. Rather, I decided to do my hair and makeup differently to suit the dress, and keep the styling to the minimum, because the dress itself is very detailed. I hope y’all like the look.

I’d like to be the BD it girl because my style is as multi-faceted as my personality. A lot of the looks I’ve posted have shown my sweet, feminine side, but I like to throw in a racy look when the occasion calls for it. I would say that in general, I’m what you would call a good girl. But I’ve definitely got a wild side, and I’m showing it here.
So I bought this American Apparel dress completely on a whim at the factory store. The registers were closing, and they didn’t have any of the stuff I was looking for, and I just grabbed this dress and paid for it. Luckily it fit, because there were no returns/exchanges allowed.
This is also my first pair of biker gloves. I thought they were really cool because they’re tough but have some girly details, which made them irresistible.
