Basically I grabbed whatever was clean from a giant pile of clothes by my bed. I’m quite sad, I bought these tights from H&M and they already ripped :( Anyway, I’m off to watch that Emma series on PBS; it’s really good, so much better than the Gwyneth Paltrow version.

The weather has been quite agreeable lately, no rain but not too sunny. Just perfectly cloudy :) I feel like some kind of gangster’s moll in this outfit, I’m not sure why.
I’m super excited for Harry Potter Land! Even more previews have been released and I’m so excited! Now I need to save money to go; my friends and I are planning a trip next January :)

I thought I’d dress up like Betty today as a sort of ode to the show. Betty Suarez was the queen of pattern-mixing and clashing colors; some of Marc and Amanda’s best lines come from insulting on Betty’s outfits. Nevertheless, I really liked Betty’s outrageously colorful style, as it was quirky, fun, and very Betty. Despite working at a fashion magazine, she never completely assimilated to a Mode girl’s style; instead she took pointers and tips from Mode and made it her own. Betty also never wears pants and is always in heels or flats; I think Marc even has commented on Betty wearing socks with her heels :)
Ever since I saw this picture of Tennessee Thomas with those heart-patterned tights, I’ve wanted a pair just like it! These knee socks I found in HK are the closest thing I’ve found so far. Does anyone know where I can get white tights like that with big black hearts?
I’m so glad this first week of school is over, but I have so much homework and studying to do already! I unsuccessfully crashed seven classes last week, and I am so exhausted and tired of this. There’s one last prospective Japanese class next week that I’m going to try, hopefully there’s room. It’s supposed to be an intensive Kanji studying class, and I hope I can keep up, because I am absolutely terrible at Kanji :( Already Saturday night, why does the weekend fly by so quickly? I have so much work to do still…

Wearing black and navy blue for yet another rainy day. I love this sailor shirt so much! The middy collar and the stripes are too awesome! I like navy blue a lot now; up until my last trip to HK, I didn’t even have a pair of navy blue tights, which is kind of odd since I own just about every color :)
AHHHH I think I’m going to go crazy from scheduling and crashing classes! Oh the woes of a college student attending a school with no money :( Anyway, I just started school yesterday and I think I have a confirmed 9 units, which is three classes, and not enough for a full-time student. I’m going crazy trying to get classes; I’ve unsuccessfully crashed five classes, all full. If I have a nervous breakdown, you guys will know why. I’m trying to stay motivated and work hard this semester, but this week is going to continue to be super stressful. I wouldn’t be surprised if I sprouted gray hairs or premature wrinkles…or have that aforementioned nervous breakdown. Oh summer, hurry up and get here…so I can take summer school. Darn.

My friend and I went down to the Pier and the Wharf for a little fun the other day. Unfortunately it wasn’t the wisest idea to visit Ghirardelli Square in the midst of a thunderstorm. Not to mention it was cold yet we were eating sundaes at Ghirardelli. Oh well, it was wet but it was super fun. Super empty at Pier 39; it was relaxing without all the crazy tourists. Also had so much fun at the quarter arcade with all the vintage machines. I love love love the Pier! Can’t wait to go back…when the sun comes out.
Beatles and the Army Add as Favorite Photo

I got this army jacket from Eddie Bauer for Christmas from my mom, probably to feed my Call of Duty phase and all things military-inspired except the actual military. I love it, from the heavy-duty material (complete with this tartan-patterned lining) to the shoulder details like the ones on actual army jackets! It’s kind of perfect to throw over anything. Lately I’ve been drawn to mixing elements like tough and hardcore with feminine and romantic. Not that I am hardcore or even feminine. I just like to wear florals…and army jackets. I guess that’s a great thing about clothes: giving the illusion that your someone else when underneath those great layers, you’re not.
In recent months, I’ve become a Beatles fan after watching A Hard Day’s Night. It’s kind of hilarious and completely random; I’ll have to do a review post one day. I like the Beatles, but only the early years. Like before they became all psychedelic and grew beards. Yes I like them with those mushroom haircuts. Plus now I can distinguish between all four of them; my favorites are George and Ringo :)
