For my 24th Birthday, my boyfriend Mike took me to Montebello, a little town just outside of Montreal. We sat by a fireplace, drank wine and played battleship, and we also explored the old log cabin castle we were staying in! The place was built in the 1930s and filled with adventure!
My birthday dress and the sparkly bow clips on my shoes are from H&M
The tights are HUE
and the shoes are from Browns
My new glasses are Brooks Brothers and they remind me of the Riley ones that Zooey Deschanel modeled for Oliver Peoples!

I got so excited when I saw this display of dried corn and pumpkins I nearly squealed! Fall really is upon us, I even saw some sort of yellowy orange leaves falling off a tree this morning, plus wearing a cardigan to the market was just too much of a joy for me!
I hope everyone’s weekend was as wonderful as mine! I spent the whole thing in the sun watching baseball and eating hot dogs!

dress: swap with brianne
sunglasses: H&M

Secret Paths Add as Favorite Photo

In the 2 or more years Mike and I have been dating, he still hasn’t hiked to the top of Mont Saint Hilaire – which is where I grew up. We had Lola with us, and the mountain is a nature reserve owned by a prissy University who won’t let me bring my dog up on their trails, so instead we drove around the mountain to the other side and found a secret path. There were signs that said no trespassing and had I still be in rural Mississippi, there is no WAY I would have had the guts to venture out (probably due to my Father suggesting Deliverance as a pre road trip movie night)….but since we were in my safe little boonie town in Canada, we totally went for it! Not only did we feel super duper rebellious, but we also stumbled across a little teeny paradise complete with big open sunny fields, a waterfall and some pretty astonishing greenery!
Bugs and creepy outhouses in the middle of the wilderness are what eventually sent us back on our way!
But I’m glad that McGill University doesn’t allow dogs now, because it lead us to this little sanctuary! :D
Perfect dress and bag: from my swap with Brianne and shortened by my loving Grandmother
socks: Hue
woven oxfords: thrifted

This is the most beautiful place I’ve ever laid eyes on. While I’m sure my opinion is biased because we’ve only really seen the very well preserved (not to mention wealthy) historic district, I still just can’t get over how much pretty one city could be!
The whole place is dripping with spanish moss and pretty pink and white blossoming trees and the old squares, parks and cemetaries offer up about a million options of the perfect spot to read a book (I’m about to jump into Fitzgerald’s "The Last Tycoon")….
It’s stifflingly hot and humid, which I’m just no good at dealing with, but none of that matters because the city is perfect.
