About My Style

typicalllly…i love “cutesy” things. i’m still growing and developing my style, being 17 i feel like there’s the older, classier me who i’m growing into, but there’s also the younger, whimsical me that throws colors and patterns together :). my style is a day to day thing..

Being sick the past two days meant two things:
1) I didn’t get to see the dear nearly as often as I would have liked (no schooool)
2) I watched a TON of tv.

I rewatched the entire first season of gossip girl. And it has happened so subtly, that it wasn’t until I rewatched Gossip Girl that I really noticed how much Blaire Waldorf’s style has changed! Old Blaire and new Blaire are equally as amazing- but her old days were so much more school-girl and preppy.

So today, because I was sick of being sick and desperately felt the need to update my chictopia before I leave tomorrow for my grand college tour (eeee!), I made an outfit in honor of the old Blaire :). Notice: I even wore a headband.

The oxford shirt is something I noticed episode after episode. And skinny jeans. She never wore many vests, but without, I didn’t feel me-ish, so I added that :).
And wedges :). Blaire had some AMAZING heels back then!!

I actually got this shirt for one dollar brand new with tags at good will. And the vest on sale when I went to seattle for 4.95. And I’m realizing that really, the most expensive thing in this outfit is the necklace!

So anyways. I just wanted to also thank you all. Chictopia has honestly transformed more than just my style. I feel different as I get dressed everyday and walk through the halls of my high school. My mom thinks clothes are materialistic- but I honestly believe they are more than that. I believe they are an expression of who you are, and because of the confidence you chictopians have given me, I feel like I’ve “found” more of myself in what I wear.
Each and everyone of you make my day, everyday.

:)

Love always,
Magpiee:)

Hi Lovelies:)
Do you remember those Steve Madden oxfords I told you about in my last post???
THESE ARE THEM!!!

They are delightful! I seriously can not believe I found them. They were the EXACT pair I’ve been drooling about online for months now, but haven’t been able to afford (the woes of being 17). And, then, what do you know? I find them at Ross for over $100 less than what I would have paid for online!!!

AHHHHHH.

Well.
Last night was sadies:).
My date took me to THAI food beforehand! I am the pickiest eater…ever. And I tried FIVE new things! SO exciting.
Can you guess what we were??? :)
I’ll give you a hint: “Lucy, you’ve got some ’splainin to do!”

OUTFIT
I am wearing one of my FAVORITTEE dresses! It’s denim, and I got it from forever21 at the start of the school year. It is seriously SO versatile. I’ve worn it with different sweaters, teeshirts, cardi’s… and it matches everything. I’ve never worn a blouse under it, so I decided to go for it and put this floral button up top under it. And of course, I wouldn’t be me if I was not wearing a pair of my tights, so here they are:). And lastly, are my delightful oxfords. Welcome to the family!

I love you all so much. Thank you!

hmmm. any thoughts??

Love you allllll :)

Can you feel a connection with someone but the other person feel nothing at all?

What do you think?

Well. This week is going soo much better than last week. So far. I better not jinx myself :)
I thrifted with my dear friend taylor (who now has a chictopia!! so cool!) and found these AMAZINGG michael kors wedges!!! (showcased HERE!!)
they were less than ten dollars…and there is no way i could ever have purchased michael kors shoes otherwise!!!
We spent a lovely afternoon drinking coffee and thrifting and catching up with my friend :).

Yesterday, I went to the mall with my friendd. We are going to sadies together. As Taylor Swift and Kanye :)!
Hahahaha. It was delightful…. AND…. you know how I’ve been searching for some oxford flats? for the past THREE months?
Specifically a pair of Steve Madden’s that were way too expensive online?

THEY WERE AT ROSS!!! 16 DOLLARS! my friend found them. and he convinced me I had to buy them. Sooo I did. And I can’t wait to show you them!

Today, I went thrifting. Again. And found a sundress he also had to convince me to get:). I’ve spoiled myself this week!

OUTFIT:
this is the first time i have EVER worn a romper… Tieka from Selective Potential inspired me to try it out! It’s actually Taylor’s..hahaha. But I borrowed it and now I have to buy myself one. The detailing on the front of this one is SO cute. And of course, I’m wearing tights…. I love tights. So much. I’m a little sad that spring is coming because I don’t know what I will do without pairing skirts and shorts with tights….they just add some pizzaz you know??? And here are my delightful Michael Kors shoes. I love them! So comfy. And I’m 5’4" in them!

love you alllllll :)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!
each and everyone of you.

BY THE WAYY!!!! these tights are on sale at urbanoutfitters.com in the sale section! FIVE DOLLARS! I kid you not:)

Whewwwwwwwwww!!

This week was insane…
The funny thing is, while crappy things kept happening, I was never really unhappy or moody. I was just kind of annoyed, but not cry-in-my-room-with-the-door-closed depressed.

On Monday, I found out some very disappointing news that may be the real end to any hope that the guy I like and I will get together. ughh. Something beyond me and beyond him.

On Tuesday, I had an orthodontist appointment. Which was supposed to be wonderful because it was supposed to be the SECOND to last appointment before my braces come off….but no. I got gum tissue removed all around my molars. They literally took a knife to my gums and sliced parts of it off. OUCHH. So I didn’t eat solid food for two days straight.

On Thursday, I went swing dancing as per usual. It was amazing and we were having sooo much fun, until the very last dance when a girl wearing heels (they were cute…!) accidentally stomped on my bare foot. This prevented me from participating in soccer practice on Saturday morning. Ughh.

So, even though the week sucked and in the back of my mind the fact that in one week exactly, someone will alter his and my relationship, was lurking in the back of my mind…the weekend was wonderful!

On Saturday, we had our “date” afternoon-night. He and I went to Shutter Island which was MAGNIFICENT!! It blew our minds. I was expecting something pop-out scary, but it was intensely psychological. Which is better. It gives less reason to grab cough someone’s hand or hide your face in their shoulder……but it was stillll amazing! We got blizzards afterward at dairy queen and drove around town talking and listening to music. It was blisssssful. And we came back to my house and played mario for two hours while eating candy in bulk :).

Today, I went thrifting!! I found some delightful things and I CANT wait to make outfits from them!!

Sooo now. about my outfit. This outfit should be called, I-want-to-be-chic-but-i-am-also-extremely-lazy-and-want-to-be-comfortable. This sweatshirt is SOO comfortable. And it’s still really cute because of the little studs on the shoulder :). And I’ve been obsesssed with shorts/leggings lately. I wore shorts/leggings yesterday for my “date” afternoon and it was soooo comfy. The shoes I’m wearing I borrowed from my friend!!!!!! they are everything I ever wanted in heels! They have the oxford-lace up detail on them plus they are four inches tall :). It makes me 5’ 3"! EEE! hahaha.

Anyways….

I have a blog now!!!!!!!!!!!!
After this first month of chictopia, I feel ready to start blogging now that I’ve gotten my roots in here.
Pleasee take a peek :):):):)

SOooo…
I (guess) this is my BD it girl entry.

I really wasn’t sure if i even wanted to enter. I mean, look at all of the gorgeous girls and their fabulous clothes!
But then I sat here at my computer…and I thought…
the BD it girl should be someone who isn’t afraid to take risks. To be themselves and take a chance. Take the chance that you’ll be ridiculed for what you’re wearing or that you’ll stand out in a flock of girls conforming to what society “should be”. Someone who knows who she is and wants the world to see it. The BD it girl should be someone who has fun with what they’re wearing, because I truly believe that clothes are an expression of who we are. And if you’re walking through the hallways among of a sea of hollister graphic tee abercrombie jean girls getting dirty looks for wearing something YOU love and YOU have fun with…….then you have all the power in the world because only you can bring yourself down if you don’t let the world control your happiness! :)

So, here is my risk. I got so many glares for wearing jean cutt offs with tights and a mixed patterned belt with a dorky heart patterned top. And you know what? I. Had. A. Blast. :).

P.S. these are my mommy’s shoes! she wore them when SHE was in high school :). so exciting!
