My friend had a birthday party so ideal time for dressing up. not usually need an excuse.
The dress was on sale at the local H&M in the city for £5!! Bargain
The jacket is so comfortable, finally found one that had the right length sleeves.
Black brogues unseen from office

The red lipstick is a first for me, revlon colourstay liquid lipstick in garnet, great choice after two layers and stayed all night.
Impressive

Inspiration post again.... Francoise Hardy   Add as Favorite Photo

Hello Everyone
After such an absense i feel that i should fill you in on the events. Well there is nothing that i can show you. Brother went off with the camera, came back with it broken! Never again. so whilst the camera is at the menders i have to survive with more inspirational posts. So this post focuses on my love of the 1960’s. Both of my parents were teenagers so have been able to use original photos for inspiration. Dad was a Mod with the white vespa! Mum was mini skirted chelsea girl in Liverpool besotted with the Beatles. She saw them in concert too . Francoise Hardy And Jane Birkin became poster girls for me since I became interetsed in fashion and music these past few years.

However, In previous posts i have had mentinoed the love of the tomboy. As the days begin to get warmer, the skirts appear and the denim begins to wane. As i have had so much work over the last few months makes blogging inpossible has mean’t that i can experiment with my “Look”.
First undertaken was a haircut. A Classic bob, has mean’t that my style has become slightly less androgynous and wavering into more Feminine/Masculine instead of the Masculine/Feminine.
New Skirt and shorts into the mix of denim. i am getting slightly fed up of the denim. this has been rectified by an AA Jersey pocket and H&M tweed wool shorts. Worn with oxfords and thick thermal black tights and the “Signature” plaid shirts. A godsend in december no less.

I know this is a style/fashion blog. some photos of the outfits will surface when i’m back at university. the lack of willing photographers means little or no photos.
So Bye! For now

Tomboy inspiration? 90s grunge meet tomboy?   Add as Favorite Photo

ok haven’t been on chictopia as much as i would like, camera is broken yet again. well it’s protesting… reluctant to work. when it does eventually decide to work, chictopia will be the first to hear lol. but anyways ,y last post now seems like along time ago. which it was…

anyhow 90’s grunge is back in full flow, well elements are. Plaid, Denim and Doc Martens are key, however other elements are beginning to show too. as chictopia shows.

Anyhow thought i would show a Vogue editorial photgraph from Stephen Meisel. i think? if anybodys knows what editorial and the photographer it would be very much appreciated? thank you to all who have left the comments on the last post. it’s amazing thanks

tomboy chic -the life long love affair.   Add as Favorite Photo

every time i go shopping i find myself heading towards the menswear departments. when i was a small child i was gifted by a teenage friend a plaid shirt. (ok it was the nineties) and a love affair began. i wore the shirt to death with the later addition of a denim vest with a brown satchel. i have recently found myself back in love with this look. as my wardobe history shows that i live plaid shirts and converse. my mum never allowed the converse until i was about 15!! so i’ve been making up for the time ever since. so when i saw this picture on the NAST magazine blog i offically feel in love with the nonchalence and ease of movement..

it’s great to see the tomboy chic back, in street style, and on the runways. i love to see women wearing menswear as it is still a feminine look, without the florals and ruffles (not me) at 5’10 i’ve never felt comfortable in florals and therefore avoid. skirts have been added but sporadically as i have got older but still a tomboy at heart
