I'm Patiently Waiting for You Spring Add as Favorite Photo

I thrifted this beautiful vintage sweater yesterday. The tag says “Virgin Orlon.” I was curious what Orlon was because I thought it was wool and realized when I got home that is a really soft acrylic:) I don’t care though, at least I don’t have to worry about moth holes.
I’m officially ready for spring…what about everyone else?

Happiness is a Warm Faux Fur Coat Add as Favorite Photo

Sorry, I’ve been listening to The White Album a lot today:) I’m so excited to have found this beautiful faux fur leopard print coat yesterday. I’ve been looking for one FOREVER and finally, finally found this one at my favorite local thrift store last night. I have to adjust the right pocket, but otherwise its absolutely perfect. Today was a pretty simple day, black outfit with the coat and gold earrings. Strangely, the only color I wore was my red lipstick:)

Earthy Florals Add as Favorite Photo

For some reason, I need florals in my life. I need to wear them, I love flowers. It could be anything from 70’s brown florals that look like old wallpaper to abstract big patterns to dainty, pretty ones like this skirt. You can’t really tell from the picture, but its a blue skirt with little yellow and pink flowers all over it. The sweater is an old one that my mother bought me years ago and that I was never really sure how to wear. When I cleaned out my closet this past weekend, I realized that I needed to figure out a way to wear it or give it away. Today was the day…and now it feels like a new addition to my sweater collection:)

Work Days Add as Favorite Photo

The office in which I work is pretty conservative. I try to keep it interesting though on my days there. Truth be told, with my job, I could wear nice jeans and a button down because I’m in the back most of the day, but I love to dress up and I love to feel…put together, I guess. Someone there told me that I looked like a French artist with my tie; I was thinking more late 60’s early 70’s secretary:)
The best part about this outfit is the blouse. It has a pattern of squares and within the squares, it looks almost like the surface of a rock formation. I’m probably explaining it wrong, so I’ll show a pic. The fabric also has an almost iridescent quality. I was just excited to find a vintage blouse that fit me:) The arms are actually long enough!

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue Add as Favorite Photo

I’ve really been dying to wear this recently-thrifted angora-blend sweater since I found it last week and ultimately decided to pair it with the most vibrant blue dress I own. I love the shoulder pads and the detailing around the bust (which you can’t see under the sweater) and the pattern is so bright and cheerful. Despite my affection for the dress, I realized after looking at the pictures from tonight that its just too long for me now and raised the hem three or four inches. Unfortunately, I was way too lazy to re-take the pics, so here it is pre-hemming.

First of all, thanks for all of the comments and votes lately! I really appreciate everyone who visits my chictopia blog and the feedback. I actually wasn’t going to post the outfit that I wore yesterday. I liked it a lot, but was tired and the girl at the coffee shop I visited earlier that day had barely suppressed a sarcastic little laugh when I took my coat off. Silly style snob.
Anyway, today it was cold, windy and snowy again. They predicted flurries, but it was heavy and wet and so I decided to wear my thrifted Oleg Cassini oxfords and a puffy high-waisted skirt for comfort. The purple ruffly blouse was a shot of comfort to get me through the day. Thanks again!
