Wore this to a Monday night out with my boyfriend and my brother. Nothing much happened- just a good time out of the house. I’ve been noticing my nights out have been quite tamer and tamer by the minute. I’m so laidback and not into the whole all out mode right now. I don’t know what it is….
But trust me, nothing says laid back more than a checkered vintage tunic I used as a dress instead and thigh high boots. Naturally thigh high boots aren’t really chill as much but you’ve got to work with me here, I’m all about the high heels!
Finished off with my everyday serving of studs…. and leather cuffs and my old old stam bag from 2006!
I’M TURNING 23 in 2 days! And I have no birthday plans at all! Is chilling by the pool adequate birthday plans? Haha. OMG I am so lazy to do anything…
But before the big 2-3, I have yet one thing to dread… my heart doctor appointment tomorrow :( Sigh.

I’ve been so haggard and tired lately and I soooo need a breather! I cannot wait to turn 23 this weekend! And finally get some down time to rest, relax and take it easy! I miss the good old days of fun and fuss-free everything!
When I am of course knee deep in stress and anxiety, I turn to clothes! Tutu skirts sure can’t turn back time but it does always make the present seem more fun and fabulous…I don’t know what it is about tutus really but tulle is like instant bright and shiny! Don’t you agree?
It may have been an all black look but I had a marvelous time in it! :D

The BEST part of having your own clothing line is…. You never worry about what you have to wear all the time since 100% of the time, most samples of the products you design end up going to you. Which is why I know deep down that even if I stop shopping for a year and keep on designing, I will still have an abundance of new outfits to wear…and if I don’t, it might be a sign I need to be making more already!
Anyway, this is one of my MOST favorite pieces from our collection entitled HEROINE CHIC…thus the blog title. I have been so busy with orders etc. that I rarely have time to go online here and comment on all your fabulous photos…. It makes me so sad but I guess I find comfort in dressing up other people instead of just myself for a change.
The collection which you can view by clicking this LINK for Glitterati is inspired by fierce, mythical and modern women warriors from way back to the near future. Our look is very goddess-inspired with a twist which I have been addicted to since December 24,2009—-hint hint: that GOLD Midas Touch Grecian dress. Designing with one shoulder pieces is relatively so easy for gowns, formal wear, party clothes and cocktail dresses… but for a more corporate "everyday’ look, I think it’s more of a challenge…. We took on that challenge and came up with this… a tailored and very chic look women can so wear while conquering their modern day version of the battlefield…the workplace! My favorite part of this all is the belt…cause it totally adds an extra oomph to the look!
I wore this exactly how I styled it for our shoot and if you click on the next photo, you’ll see how identical my outfit looks from the catalogue shot displayed on our website. What can I say? I loved it too much I needed to wear it first before everyone else got to. Haha. Anyway, I wore this to a pretty casual chill session with corporate people more or less and for the first time ever (since I usually go to that place in shorts, tattered stockings and boots), I felt like I had something in common with those people! Haha.
Enough of that, I’ve been down with allergies for 4 days now and my back rashes and throat/ nose discomfort is reaching epic proportions. I think its the Spring bug that’s got me all acting up (pollen alert!) but everyone stay safe :D You know I love y’all! xx

I always used to dress up for shoot days but with the studio we shoot our collections in being virtually next door from my place, I now go for a more laidback look now for shoots, this the shorts, wedge heels and basic tanktop with a blazer. I used to have an aversion for wedged shoes since I thought they made my feet look like boats (also the reason why i avoid Crocs and will never wear a pair) but this pair worked out pretty well. I reckon it would be a fabulous solution to my beach dilemma and my curved feet which makes it impossible and intolerable to wear flats. (I had the blisters to prove them!)
Anyway, as I mentioned in the last blog, the new collection will be called “HEROINE CHIC” which pays tribute to goddesses and powerful divas who have defined an entirely new female archetype- that of being a glam warrior goddess. Expect tons of draping, asymmetry, shoulder emphasis, sparkle and revelry for this new collection! I am so excited to launch it! Visit GLITTERATI and wait for it as it will come VERY VERY SOON!
As always, a shoot is not a shoot without the classic JL and Nina dopelganger syndrome. There have been over two dozen times that I’ve metup with Nina for nights or days out and end up wearing the exact same thing she is without even planning/ talking about it! It’s crazy really and that was the case as well in our first ever shoot last November 2008. Check out the last photo to see just how in sync our minds are when it comes to outfit picking.
Sorry for lack of updates! I have yet to check out and reply to your posts in style gallery and I am so excited. I’ve been pretty busy the past week (my working hours are from 11 AM until 5 AM!) so I haven’t really had the chance to get my daily dose of your stylista files! xx

I have not been able to update lately since I’ve been quite busy with work. The adrenaline rush of coming out with a new collection practically put me on overdrive and tonight, officially on zombie mode and I find myself having the weirdest working hours… 11 AM till 5 AM? Talk about Neurotic. I don’t really know where I get all this energy from since I am virtually caffeine-free for about almost a year now. So caffeine rush is SO NOT THE REASON! Seriously, having my perfectionist hangups has virtually shut me out of the radar!
Anyway, the lag of outfits to post is catching up with me, I have 2 unposted looks from last 2 weeks ago, 2 from last week and 1 from earlier when we shot our new line which we called “HEROINE CHIC” since our collection is mainly composed of draped, Grecian goddess inspired pieces and post-apocalyptic modern warrior pieces! It is totally the perfect name for our pre-summer line and we are proudly launching it ONLINE this week. With that accomplished, my mind is already on the upcoming release of our summer line where we will be coming out with beach and resort wear, mainly! Summer is my most favorite season of the year and I am so psyched for it!!! I easily get cold which is why winter is so not for me ever (except for the chance to wear wool, fur, layers and thigh high boots, I love nothing about the brr months!)
Anyway, enough of the babbling, I wore this classic black strapless dress to a simple night out with friends last Saturday night at White Moon! Had such a fabulous time and finally got me my break from the pile of things to do. It was pretty basic- all black but I loved everything about the dress’ cut!
I cannot wait to release the new line already and of course get to wear my samples from the collection myself! But before we get to do that, I need to get me some sleep first! So, xx!

I rarely wear pants…EVER. Unconvinced? Feel free to browse my Chictopia and you’ll find proof. I only wore pants for about less than ten times in my posts for the past year and a half and I remember wearing denim only thrice until this entry. If ever I do wear, I pick slim fit/ skinny jeans since I think they look nice when paired with heels.
Suffice to say, I do not have skinny bony legs which I can credit to genetics and ballet dancing which resulted to an underdeveloped upper body and overdeveloped legs. So naturally, I rarely take the denim jeans route since I find, trousers and pants to be quite unflattering especially for my body type. But the pair I got to wear this day was ultra-comfy and made me feel glam I was beyond thrilled to discover I can get to wear it yet again!
As Carrie Bradshaw said in one of the SATC episodes, “There they were, her Skinny jeans. The jeans every women keeps in the vain hope that someday, she’ll fit into them again!” Seriously! I bought these jeans back then… when I couldn’t find the right pair for me! Then, like magic, I stumbled upon this pair of jeans in the Mango Sale circa 2006—- it was 70% off. I got it and for about a three months after purchase, we were inseparable.
I then forgot about this since then! However, last Friday, while browsing through my closet and wanting to take a break from the dresses and skirts I am so accustomed to wearing as a daily uniform, I went ahead, took the risk and put them on. It was like a Makeover revelation moment and while they may look like leggings, they are really black denim jeans. Paired it with an all black look- an “ALL MEN ARE DANGEROUS” statement tanktop from Zara bought 3-4 years ago and a leather studded vest acquired recently at a bazaar!
Pardon the very long story explaining the jeans. I was just quite proud of being able to fit into them again!
Watched “LEGION” that night then headed home as I was majorly tired!
xx
