last week, me and my friend Raf went out of the hospital for a 15-minute break. Usually he tag me during his cigarette breaks and I don’t mind inhaling all the shitty nicotine from his mouth. What we didnt know is that there’s a small thrift store behind 7 ELEVEN and the rest is history. The alloted 15 minutes extended as i tried on every possible clothes that i like. ehem well not just clothes but shoes as well.. That’s why i hate it when i have someone shopping with me. a small dose of friendly advice and encouragement would inevitably push me to shop more.
To my surprise i only have 50 bucks on my pocket but the store owner was kind enough to reserve the 4 items i bought which i will show on my next post soon as i’m in the process of sterilizing each one of them lol..
Thrift shopping is fun but i need someone with me coz i end up gettin frustrated and wasted from all the searching and rummaging not to mention i have a severe case of dust allergy. The next thing i know, my neck is all itchy and reddish! That’s why prior to entering a thrift store, i always carry w/ me an antihistamine but unfortunately it always make me so sleepy so most of the time i forego this challenging kind of shopping.
i really feel lucky to have these rugged combat boots.. the zipper details in the middle reminds me of alexander wang’s combat boots
i went to my dermatologist yesterday @ St. Luke’s Hospital and i had fun .. well not really coz during that 45 minute facial, i was in a terrible terrible state of pain and suffering.
my derma asked me where will i be heading after the treatment since accdg to her, i look party-ready. i explained to her (explained talaga? lol) that i wanna dress up as much as i can and there’s nothing too fancy about it.. its just me wearing a basic tee with some sheer odd looking top over it. And about the boots, i wear it the same just like others wear their dirty pair of Crocs..
True to form, we need to suffer to be pretty. There are those effortless and innately pretty folks we see on TV, in the cover of the magazines, on the runways
then there’s us. haha
sorry for the lack of pictures taken outside.. its just that most of the time i go out alone and i don’t have someone to take pictures of me. ive been a loner these past few days hehe

ive been a fan of drapes ever since i tried one of those ubiquitous long black coats in Zara. The old rules imposed by those old magazines for the older audience would advise its readers to never cut the length of yer bodice.. especially if you are not blessed with a statuesque figure. But the moment i saw myself in the full length mirror, i kinda liked it..no.. i loved it! Since then on, i would hunt fashion sites where i can see designers whose expertise are draping hence , my adoration with Rick Owens, Damir Doma, Julius, Anne Demeulmeester and later on w/ Rad Hourani. I would also rummage fashion blogs and online shops like Complex Geometries, Oasis and the likes…
the recent Fall/Winter collection of JULIUS is an instant orgasm! The drama and darkness of drapes amalgamated in those beautiful pieces worn by those skinny Ukranian male models is pure delight.
in fashion there are no rules but still , one must at least follow the weather meter in order for you to enjoy the clothes you wear.
oh i wish fall wouldnt end…

The people around me (e.g. friends, colleagues, family ) are always always vigilant on how would i appear whenever there’s a quiet get together inside a coffee house or a movie date or a trip to the nearby grocery. Oftentimes whenever they’d see me in my Cheap Mondays and Doc Marten’s they would ridiculously ask me if imma go t0 , say, a club scene or somewhere very flashy.
What i do to trim down the whole look is i leave my hair unkempt and rumpled.. i dont think too much on what accessories would match.. and about the leather shoes? oh i intentionally leave it a bit withered and dusty..
sometimes i’d wear these geeky glasses and a big bag just to weaken other factors that make the whole me attention-grabbing(accdg. to some)..also it makes others think that ima just head out to school haha
Anyhow, if there’s a lesson or two i learned in finding my personal mantra when it comes to dressing up is to never take it too seriously and i know a lot will really relate to this as well..
my advise : Wear a sequined tank top to visit a friend in the hospital or pick yer 5 inched Louboutins to buy cabbage and pickles at a nearby grocery …crazy i know , but life is too short for limitations..for inhibitions and fear.
today, i wore my new found love: a black suede wedge from Nine West.
my girlfriends told me that wedges are friendlier than pumps and platforms : NOT!!
I went to a friend in Makati to get the stuff that he borrowed 2 seasons ago and while enjoying the instant height and posture them shoes give, i couldnt hide the tender pain it brings to my tarsals… i mean the bones on my toes.. Nevertheless, i enjoyed this experience. fashion masochism , yes?
the prominence of man-heels and wedges on the runways led to this personal championing. the juxtaposition of these horse-like shoes to one’s skinny legs is but a winsome sight.
i also enjoyed wearing Mike’s gift: the sweater cape which has a very interesting zipper details on the front. Very Rad Hourani indeed..
by the way, i dyed my hair lighter..

my mom said i wear sad colors too much
maybe im just a fan of earth & natural muted colors… the colors you see i the cemented walls, in the street, the moss in yer grandma’s old garden… im not the type who’d wear electric blue or hot pink…
i tried putting socks over my wedge boots to achieve rick owen’s all black wedge in his s/s colllection.. i swear, someday ima have one..
btw, that was advised by the great Mike aka toxicdiscoboy. haha
its really cold and i just grabbed my old roped cardigan …
have a great day..
