I’m going to New York with a friend in the beginning of March, we’ve both been there before and done all the super-touristy stuff, so now we need the insider tips to do the “real”-experience! What areas should we visit and where should we shop and eat? All tips are welcome!

Russia
Cuba
Austria
United Arab Emirates
Mexico
Except cities in Sweden (were I live) I have been in following cities:
Denmark (Copenhagen)
Norway (Oslo)
Finland (Björneborg)
France (Paris, Marseille, Wissembourg)
Monaco (Monaco, but only for a daytrip, took the train from Marseille.)
Scotland (Glasgow)
Ireland (Dublin)
Malta (Valletta)
Croatia (Opatija)
Italy (Trieste, also for a day trip, took a bus from Croatia)
I would really like to travel to Asia (like India, China or Japan), or to New York. I have heard that spring in NY is really beautiful (and I wouldn’t say no to the shopping either, haha).

We’ve all gone on trips – but what’s the worst thing that’s happened to you on a trip? I’d love to hear – it just might save us all from facing the same problem when we each travel ourselves!
When in New York City, it’s a very common rule to watch out for traffic. This still counts even if you’ve gotten the “OK” signal to cross a street of course. I was on a trip up there one day and as I was crossing the street, a taxi kinda just comes out of nowhere and proceeds to run over my luggage, missing me by just a few inches. Look both ways when you cross the street… always! :]

Tell us what we should check out in your own place. Tourist spots/museums/beaches/temples/restaurant/festivals, etc.
Baltimore, MD. There is so much to see here:
Maryland Zoo
National Aquarium in Baltimore
Science Center
Inner Harbor
PowerPlant Live (for those over 21)
Federal Hill
Fort McHenry
The shops in Hampden
Baltimore Museum of Art
B&O Railroad Museum
Lyric Opera House
Port Discovery
Orioles Park
Baltimore Museum of Industry
The Dominos Sugar sign
Edgar Allen Poe house
…and that is only naming a few.
Baltimore is a really great city to come to if you really want a get-away packed full of stuff to do.

Hey guys, I’m turning 21 in November and my birthday present from my family is a holiday.I’m soo grateful, they said I could have input in the destination, but since its going to be cold I would like ideas on places that are hot and affordable for a week.
I have already been to Tunisia,Florida,Poland,Ghana,Canada and France, so places other than this would be appreciated. I was thinking Morocco or Egypt but is it okay to go to this area with all that is going on in the news?
Thanks in advance
Jess
i would recommend the Madonna Inn in beautiful Pismo, California, USA.
They have the coolest rooms I have ever seen & it’s a once in a lifetime experience!

It’s a must try to take a sample of the local food/cuisine when one travels. What is your best food tasting experience and where? Share some of your experience to all the lovely ladies. Who knows they might get a few pointers from you. xoxo.
Shabu shabu in korea, there was one specific place that I ate at almost every week. it would be my first stop whenever i go back to korea

Living in a small town traveling some place else is like torture , you forget how much better bigger cities are , the weather , people, food , the s h o p p i n g . packing is the worst and going back is even WORSE .
I live in a small city with a big city feel, aka Indianapolis. We don’t have much here in good ‘ol Indiana, besides corn, soy, racing and football, so when I get to visit Chicago, New York, and my favorite, London, it makes me long for that kind of atmosphere in Indy. We’re getting there, but we aren’t here yet.

The coming summer I will be traveling to England (Northumberland, Lacock, and London) as well as Italy (Not yet sure which cities, but probably Rome and some sort of beach). Anyways, I’ve heard that Europe has slightly different standards as to acceptable clothing. Mostly the whole “No shorts in Italy, and cover you’re shoulders” thing. Anyways, I did some research, and the places I looked at all said that that really only counted in cathedrals, museums, and occasionally restaurants.
What I mean to ask is, if shorts are acceptable, would mid-thigh (think this or this) shorts/skirts be fine?
Note: I am only 5’2", so those shorts would probably fall a bit lower than that on me.
People may scoff at the “no shorts” idea, but every travel book I’ve ever flipped through says the same thing about shorts for ALL European countries; that is, not to wear them or you’ll get stares & stand out as a tourist. The same is usually said for short skirts above the knee. The color things gets repeated a lot too – according to these guides, black & neutrals are all “locals” wear (how drab if that were true!).
This advice is probably just veeeery dated, or maybe it is geared towards older people, but it is still perpetuated in most travel books & blogs (and not just by Americans…I’ve seen people of various nationalities give this advice concerning most any country other than the US & Australia). Of course, dressing for the weather makes sense, but most people ask about wearing shorts in hot weather.
On the other end of things is the weird perpetuation that Americans wear white athletic shoes & fanny packs. I haven’t seen an American tourist dressed that way since the 1980s. Giving that advice to someone under the age of 60 as if they need it seems almost insulting….

which of the hawaii islands would you visit? I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii, but I hear different things about the islands, which are better than others. More to do on certain ones, some are loaded with tourists. The best places to site-see. Does anyone have a favorite island?
I went to Oahu for the first time for a week. I’d definitely recommend starting there since it’s more geared towards tourists. You can also take a plane to any of the other islands and I think it takes like 30 minutes, so they’re all fairly close.

Anybody from Fiji or traveled there! I’ll be studying at USP Suva next year and am curious about it!
Oh my gosh! You are so lucky! I bet that’s like a dream come true. I went to school in Michigan – and it was freezing, I can’t imagine going to school in such an amazing place with such great weather. I checked out the website and this might actually help you with some questions you might be curious about. Let us know how your experience is – keep us updated! :)

I’m going Barcelona next month and I can’t, for the life of me, figure out what to wear? I love the idea of looking fashionable but I absolutely have to be comfortable. I can’t risk having a bad time because my feet are killing me in those adorable shoes lol. Hellllp!
Hope you figured it out in time! Be sure to let us know what you did and how it worked out – I’d love to go to Barcelona next year… :]

If your going on a weekend trip, be sure to always check the weather. Try mixing and matching your outfits. If you pack a black skirt for example, match a cute top to wear with it during the day, to make for a comfy casual style. Then at night you can dress it up with a blouse and switch to heels instead of flats. Add jewelry to make it unique. Be sure if your going to wear flats bring a pair that can be interchanged with other day time outfits. Pack accessories to change your look, if you wear a dress you can pair it with a cute hat and scarf during the day and at night add a sexy belt and jewelry that stands out. Or if you have a favorite top to wear, match it with stylish shorts and then at night pair it with sexy skinny jeans and heels. Hope this helps :)
Great tips! Thanks :]

I was reading an article about proper attire for traveling. I think its was in teen vogue or seventeen, I cant really remember. It was saying that wearing sweat suits and legging is not what you should wear. You should wear clothes that you would wear on any ordinary day. I didnt agree with the article because I like to be comfortable on a plain. You figure if your flying you will be on that plain for a while or else you would just drive.
What is your opinion?
What do you wear on a plain?
Whatever you feel comfortable in. I’ll fly with denim, leggings or dresses, doesn’t really matter to me since all three are quite comfortable. I just always bring a wide scarf in case I get chilly

Anyone know of any must-see clothing shops in Paris or in Barcelona? Preferably places that aren’t too expensive. I’ve been searching the web, but many of the recommendations are for very high class stores, that are way out of my budget. I wish I was able to afford it though! (: I’m trying to make a list of the places that I want to go to before hand, so I know exactly where I want to go. Thanks in advance for your advice!
anything else contact me please….

Hi everyone! I’m moving to Dublin in a few weeks, and I wondered if any of you in here have any tips? Both fashion-wise and living advice-wise will be appreciated! Thanks!
Hey,
As a flea market its not amazing, but yeh its a nice way to pass a sunday afternoon. Its actaully only a 10minute walk from the city centre so its not far at all! I’ve gotten some nice vintage stuff there before but nothing to amazing! Its worth going down to have a look though, the people at it are always a very colourful bunch!

Im visiting Florida first week of October for Homecoming week. My cousin stays in Tallahassee but I know we will visit beaches and tourist spots. What should I bring? <clothing wise
it’ll still be super warm. I live in Jax. So you’ll need maybe two pair of Jeans but the rest of your clothes can consist of summer stuff. you may want to bring a blazer or a cardi for the cool nights.

I’m going to New York City next week for 3 days. I’ve already been last year but hadn’t had the chance to do much shopping, but this time I want to be prepared! So do you have cute clothes boutiques to recommend, not too expensive. And, in your opinion, the top places I should go (knowing I’ve already been to the statue of liberty, times square and all the typical sites)
thanks!
CENTURY 21! search it up it you haven’t heard of it (: check it out

I’m going to Florida soon, and I have lots of swimsuits but I want to stand out, what type and color of swimsuit would look really good on a 14 yr old and still make her look different than regular bikini clad girls (bikinis are cool if they can stand out from the other ones.) feel free to post links to pictures!
OH MY GOSH! I was just in flagler beach….that’s really close or like a subdivision of palm coast :D weird. Uhhhm. I definitely agree with mix and match, or try a retro high waisted bikini (sold at american apparel and forever 21, among other places) if you have the body for it. Most importantly, wear it with confidence!

Ok so I am traveling to Italy at the end of April and staying for 2 weeks. I am at a loss for what to pack! I have heard from everyone that you NEED to pack light…. that makes me laugh because I have NEVER packed light! I don’t even know what that means! So my question is, what key essentials should I pack, that I can wear multiple ways, so that I can bring the least amount of luggage possible. I want to look fashionable, but comfortable seeing as how I will be moving around a lot. PLEASE HELP!
@ TheLingerNots thank you, that helps so much!
