i know that american apparel has sheer maxi skirts but they’re expensive there. i’ve had really good luck at thrift stores/goodwill/salvation army. look in all sizes, cause they’re very easy to alter. anything that has a lining with a sheer overlay can be reduced to just the overlay = SHEER MAXI SKIRT! fantastic eh? try asos.com for very reasonably priced fun bodycon and tank dresses. actually everything on asos.com is reasonable and amazing. so def check it.
posted almost 2 years agoAs others have said, American Apparel for sure, but they are pricy :) I’ve been searching as well and you can often find some lovely ones on Ebay.
posted almost 2 years agoTopshop.com has them in various colours (not completely sheer as they have a shorter skirt underneath) but unfortunately they aren’t cheap at 40 or 45 pounds each!
I think it would be pretty simple and cheaper to buy some sheer material and put an elastic waist band onto it, haha!
We will be selling some vintage sheer maxi skirts and dresses very soon on our ebay store, check back frequently:

posted almost 2 years agoThere’s quite a few at Asos, just type in ‘maxi skirt’ and you should get quite a few to choose from. Most aren’t sheer though, and kind of expensive (around 45 pounds). American Apparel have them too but as pointed out before they’re quite expensive :/
posted almost 2 years agomine’s from Cheap Monday, although I wouldn’t call it cheap exactly.. I got a chiffon skirt on sale last week and will just remove the lining, simple as that
posted almost 2 years agoI have been looking for one all over, I found one at a vintage store but I didnt like the way it fit. I should of just bought it and sucked it up because now I really wish I would of.
posted almost 2 years agoThere’s no need to buy one – I just made one yesterday! Went to a local fabric store, bought 2m of a lovely pale blue sheer fabric for $6, followed a tutorial from the blog ‘a pair and a spare’ (google it) and now i have a maxi skirt! I also made a shorter underskirt from the leftover fabric. I’m in love!
