does anybody know where i can find a decent-quality leather moto jacket that won’t wipe out my savings? i’ve been noticing how popular they are and have been trying desperately to find one for a while now.

I was at Nordstrom Rack last week and they had lots of jackets—you might have good luck there. Otherwise i think department stores in general will be your best bet—Lord & Taylor, Macy’s, Von Maur, etc.

I am having the exact same issue you are having. I love the leather jackets from Mike&Chris and Rick Owens but they are far too expensive.

I have seen some decent ones at stores like Guess, Bebe, Express, and online on Ebay. So trendy better quality stores are your best bet.
I wouldn’t suggest getting one at places like Wet Seal or Forever21. I bought one from Wet Seal and it is starting to wear lines and peel

Either save up or go budget. That’s really the two options when you’re dealing with leather goods.

If you want to save up, it’ll be worth it. Rick Owens uses premium leather that will, quite honestly, last for forever. Mike & Chris seems a little over-priced, given their quality.

If you’re looking for cheap alternatives, buy vintage/thrift and take it to a leather specialist (unless your tailor knows how to do leather work). Or, you can go for a leather substitutes (brands like Cheap Monday have gotten pretty good at this sort of thing), which will obviously have a lower quality hand to the skin, but will definitely be more budget-friendly.

Go for eBay! Or salvation army/goodwill.
I’ve seen inexpensive ones at H&M too.
They might not be the best of quality, but they’re cheap! :)

zara has good ones but they will probably cost at least $200 if they are real leather. I bought one from express last week for $60…it was on clearance. H&M has some okay fake leather jackets sometimes.

I would advise against the H&M leather jackets, because I have seen them deteriorate rather quickly with moderate wear. But if it’s not going to be something you’ll wear everyday (but who doesn’t want to wear a kick-ass leather jacket everyday?), then it should be fine.

well if you want a cheap one, you can find imitation leather jackets for super cheap, just look on ebay. But as for real leather, check vintage shops, etsy and ebay :)

I got a moto jacket from BB Dakota (called “Fernando” jacket I think) for $65 USD. It was kind of “boxy” and I had to have the waist taken in about 1.5 inches each side for a more tailored look, cost $35.00. i like the style, angle zipper, good quality.
